군산시 철새조망대에 따르면, 행정안전부와 서울신문에서 주관하는 ‘제3회 살기좋은 지역자원 경연대회’가 지난 9월 18일부터 12월 5일까지 지자체, 기관 및 개인으로부터 접수를 받아서 최종심사를 통해 100선이 선정된 것.
이번 선정결과 전라북도에서는 6개 작품이 선정됐고 군산시 철새생태관리과에서 제공한 「철새는 날아오르고」작품이 100선에 이름을 올리게 됐다.
선정된 우수자원 100선에 대해서는 인증서를 부여하고 전국의 우수한 지역자원에 대해서는 도록집 제작, 전국 순회 전시회 개최, 언론홍보 등을 통해 지역자원을 활용한 소득증대에 도움이 될 방안을 강구할 방침이다.
철새조망대 관계자는 “이번 선정으로 국내 3대 철새도래지로 겨울철이면 수많은 겨울철새의 군무를 볼 수 있는 군산을 많은 관광객들과 어린이들에게 소개할 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.
한편 이번 경연대회는 ‘아름답고, 쾌적하고, 특색있는 도시와 농․어촌의 지역자원 발굴’을 주제로 개최됐으며, 16개 시도, 171개 시군구에서 약 1,200여점의 지역자원이 응모해 시도별 자체예선을 거친 후, 총 160선의 지역자원이 본선에 진출했다. 한정근 기자 (kmrnews@hanmail.net)
