군산중앙여자고등학교(교장 박태수)는 일본 이세학원 고등학교와 1991년 자매학교 교류를 시작한 이래 매년 학생 교류단을 통해 한일 양국의 이해를 넓히고 문화적 교류로 친선을 도모하고 있다.
지난 29일 이세학원고등학교 방문단 67명(여학생 42명, 남학생 25명)과 인솔교사 6명이 군산에 도착해 중앙여고 학생들과 홈스테이를 했다.
학생들은 서로의 문화를 배우고 이해하며, 일본의 월드컵 축구 승리를 함께 응원하면서 우정을 나누고 추억을 만드는 시간을 가졌다.
30일에는 중앙여고 유림관에서 한국과 일본 학생이 함께 어우러지는 교류와 축제를 겸한 행사를 열었다.
이날 행사에서는 중앙여고 학생들이 한국 전통무용, 난타, 풍물 공연 등을 통해 한국의 문화를 소개했고 뒤이어 일본의 전통춤인 ‘소란 부시’를 시작으로 일본 학생들의 문화 소개 시간이 이어졌다.
마지막 피날레는 우리나라 민요인 ‘아리랑’을 어깨동무하면서 함께 부르며 하나가 되는 시간을 가졌다.
환영 행사를 마친 후 이세여고 학생들은 비빔밥 만들기, 동요 배우기 등의 시간을 본교 학생들과 함께 하며 한국의 문화를 직접 체험하며, 즐거운 시간을 보냈다.
짧은 시간 동안 이뤄진 만남이었지만 이번 만남은 그 어느 때보다 더욱 더 돈독한 우정을 나눌 수 있는 시간이 됐다.
박태수 교장은 “앞으로도 일본 학생들과의 자매결연이 지속적으로 이뤄져 양국 간의 문화를 서로의 나라에 전파할 수 있는 기회를 가졌으면 좋겠다”며, “더 나아가 이러한 민간외교가 단위학교에서 활발히 이뤄진다면 한국과 일본은 마음으로 소통하는 가까운 이웃이 될 것이라 확신한다”고 말했다.
