중앙고등학교(교장 김성구) 자율형 사립고 지정을 둘러싼 전북도교육청과 학교측의 법정공방이 결국 학교측의 승소로 일단락됐다.
전주지법 행정부(재판장 강경구 부장판사)는 23일 남성학원(남성고)과 광동재단(중앙고)이 전라북도교육감을 상대로 낸 자율고 지정 고시 취소 처분에 대한 취소 소송에서 원고 승소 판결했다.
이날 재판부는 판결문에서 “두 학교 재단에 대한 피고(교육감)의 자율고 취소 처분은 재량권을 일탈한 행위로 보인다”며 “두 학교는 이미 법정 부담금을 납부할 능력을 갖춘 것으로 보이며, 고교 평준화를 해칠 우려가 있다는 피고의 주장도 이유가 없다”고 판시했다.
이번 판결에 대해 중앙고를 비롯 중앙고총동창회(회장 서찬석) 등은 군산교육에 새로운 도약의 발판이 마련됐다며 일제히 환영입장을 나타내고 있다.
김복규 중앙고 교감은 “이번 판결은 원칙을 무시한 전북도교육청의 사필규정”이라며, “앞으로 전북교육 발전을 위해선 현 교육감은 교육의 수장으로서 더 이상 혼란을 야기시키지 말아야 할 것”이라고 말했다.
서찬석 중앙고총동창회장은 “1년여 각고끝에 결국 승리할 수 있었던 것은 재경동문들을 비롯한 동문들의 굳은 의지와 노력이 있었기에 가능했다”며, “이제는 자율고가 군산교육을 이끌어가고 이를 위해서 동문 모두가 혼연일체가 돼 명문고로 도약할 수 있도록 모든 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
이에 따라 중앙고는 오는 2월1일부터 신입생 추가 모집에 나서는 등 기존 학사 일정을 그대로 진행해 나갈 방침이다.

자율형 사립고 지정에 반대했던 사람이지만, 이번 법원의 판결은 인정합니다.
이제는 처음에 신청했던 학교의 목표와 방향에 맞도록 열심히 노력하여 군산 지역의 새로운 명문으로 거듭나길 기원합니다.
일단, 논란의 와중에 지적되었던 사항들에 대해서 검토하고 보완하도록 해야 할 것입니다.
1. 교사 변인
과연 자율형 사립고를 운영하고 교육할 만한 교사의 자질에 관해 논란이 있었습니다. 재단 및 학교는 이 부분에 대한 지적을 새겨 들어 기존의 재단관련 친인척 또는 군산 지역 유지 자녀의 무차별적인 임용을 지양하고, 실력 있고 패기 있는 인재들을 공개적으로 임용하여야 할 것입니다.
2. 재단 전입금
신청시 약속했던 바대로 이사장 및 재단의 재산 출원 약속을 성실하게 이행하여 학교의 시설 개선 및 학교 교육력 개선을 위해 노력해야 할 것입니다.
3. 독자적인 학교 프로그램 개발
남성고 따라가기식 학교 운영이 아니라, 군산 중앙고만의 독특한 비전과 프로그램 개발로 군산 및 전북의 명문고로 거듭나야 할 것입니다.

외고, 상산고,과학고,남성고 보낼 실력은 안되고,,
일반계 고교보다는 좋은데 보내고 싶은 상황에..
중간역활로 생각하면 될듯 싶네요.
좋은학교 가고 싶으나 실력 안되는 상위권 학생들이 들어가긴 딱 좋은 학교라 생각합니다.

이번 미달역시 법원판결이 안난 상태에서 모집하여 미달이라 생각합니다.
그리고,,,,군산에...사립형자율고...없는것보다 있는것이 좋지 않나요???

일반 고교만 가지고 평생 군산 고교 교육을 유지하자!!이런 취지인가보네요^^

좀 좋은학교 보내려면 상산고나 외고나 과학고나 전통의 명문 남성고를
보내지. 솔직히 그동안의 중앙고 이미지 때문에 성공하기 힘들겁니다.

전주지법 승소 판결로 이제 중앙 고등학교는 전라북도 명문 사학으로 발돋움 하였습니다. 자율형 공립 고등학교 군산 고등학교와 중앙 고등학교가 경쟁하여 전북 중등 학력 신장에 대한민국 중등 학력 신장에 기여합니다^^

자율고만 지정되면 무조건 명문고로 신분 상승이라도 되는건줄 아나..
지금 상태로 충실히 하는게 더 중요했다.
