군산대학교(총장 채정룡) 도서관(관장 유정희)은 책 읽는 환경과 면학 분위기를 조성하고 전자책 이용을 향상시키기 위해 전자책 다독상 행사를 실시하고 있다.
이 행사는 2005년부터 매년 1회씩 실시했던 행사로 올해로 7회를 맞게 되었는데 지금까지 130여명이 수상했다.
올해는 지난 22일부터 5월 25일까지 다양한 분야의 책을 가장 많이 읽은 순서로 14명을 선정해 오는 5월 25일 시상식을 가질 예정이다.
군산대 도서관은 학생들의 전자책 이용 활성화를 위해 전자책도서관 이용 시연회도 열어 PC 및 모바일 기기(스마트폰, 전자책 리더기, 태블릿 PC 등) 를 통한 전자책 이용방법을 시연하기도 했다.
한편 2005년부터 전자책(e-book)을 구비하기 시작한 군산대는 경영, 자기계발, 문학, 인문, 외국어, 사회, 정치, 자연과학 등 다양한 분야의 전자책 2,000여권이 있으며, 전자책에 대한 이용증가추세를 감안하여 군산대학교는 시간적 공간적 제약없이 언제 어디서든 이용 가능한 전자책의 장점을 극대화하기 위해 전자책 스마트폰 서비스도 실시하고 있다.
