구 군산역과 중동사거리를 잇는 도로 개설이 오는 11월 착공 된다

구 군산역~중동사거리간 도로 개설이 본격 추진됨에 따라 그간 단절된 미원동과 중동·경암동 지역이 연결, 간선도로망 확충으로 교통편익을 제공하고 재래시장 등 구도심 활성화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

시 관계자에 따르면 구 군산역과 중동사거리 도로는 총 사업비 54억원, 폭 25m 길이 360m이다.

이 공사는 지난 4월부터 철도관계부서와 협의 및 실시설계 및 보상을 위한 감정평가가 완료되어, 11월 착공할 예정이다.

군산시는 재래시장 활성화 일환으로 건설 중인 공설시장 현대화 사업 완료 시점(2011.8)에 도로가 개설될 수 있도록 추진해 침체된 원도심에 활력을 불어 넣을 수 있도록 할 계획이다.

원도심활성화에 4차선 도로가 어떻게 기여할런지는 모르겠지만 아마도 33층 아파트와 더불어 그지역 땅 값은 확실히 오를것이고 집없는 서민들은 좀더 밀려날 것이고.....

다 뜯어고쳐야 하는데...겨우 4차선 해놓고 대단한 거라고 자위하겠군...

도로 생겨봐야 구역전 사거리에서 중앙로 2차선으로 꼬꾸라지고, 미원사거리에서 또 막혀 병목생기고...무슨 산간오지도 아니고, 광역시를 꿈꾸는 도시에서 무슨 당혹스런 상황인가...

도대체 몇십년이 걸려야 도로 하나 만드나...(더구나 만들어도 2-4차선 밖에 못만듦)

지금이라도 구도심 다 걷어내고 도로좀 넓혀라. 수십배의 이익이 시와 시민들에게 돌아가고 도시발전이 십년 앞당겨질 것이다. 그동안은 보존이 아니라, 흉물방치 수준이다.

뒤늦게 도로망 보완해서 쓸만한 지역거점로 성장하는 도시들이 너무나 많다. 이동네만 넋놓고 살고 있다.
