주민 복지향상을 위해 건강센터 신축과정에서 사업비를 횡령한 마을이장이 군산해경에 덜미를 잡혔다.
군산해양경찰서(서장 박세영)에 따르면, 지난 2005년 부안군 의복리 소재 6개 마을 복지센터 건립 국가 보조금 중 일부를 개인용도로 착복한 마을 대표자 K씨와 공사 관련자 등 총 5명을 입건해 조사중이라고 30일 밝혔다.
조사결과 K씨는 지난 2005년 3억 2천여만원이 투자되는 건강복지센터 건립 과정에서 운동기구를 구입한다는 명목으로 보조금 1,600만원을 추가로 신청, 부안군청으로부터 민간자본보조사업의 사업자로 선정되어 보조금을 교부받았다.
그러나 K씨는 이 돈을 주민센터 건립비용으로 모두 사용하지 않은 채 자신의 계좌로 예치해 총 1억여원을 생활비 등에 사용했고 자부담금이 아닌 보조금만으로 사업을 집행한 것으로 밝혀졌다.
이와 함께 A업체 대표는 K씨가 4천만원의 채무를 갚지 않자 돈을 빨리 받기 위해 공사대금 미수금으로 가압류를 신청한 것으로 확인됐다.
군산해경 조성철 수사과장은 “최근 포항어촌계장 국고보조금 횡령사건, 여수 양식장 에너지절감 보일러 국고보조금 부정수령 사건 등 국가보조금 관련 사건사고가 끊이질 않고 있다”며 “관내에서 이뤄지는 국고보조금 사업을 검토하고 부정한 방법으로 편취, 수령한 사례가 있는지 수사를 확대해 나갈 방침”이라고 말했다.
