군산기상대(대장 최기상)가 새만금사업단의 도로전광판(VMS) 시스템을 통해 새만금 방조제 일원에 발생 및 예상되는 각종 위험기상정보를 실시간으로 제공한다.

이번 위험기상정보 실시간 제공은 각종 위험기상으로 인한 심각한 기상재해로부터 시민의 생명과 재산 피해를 최소화하기 위해 추진하고 있는 기상정보 전달체계의 다양화 일환으로 제공하고 있다.

군산기상대 관계자는 “새만금방조제를 찾는 관광객 및 주민들에게 안개나 강풍 등 위험기상정보를 신속히 전달하고 있다”며, “앞으로도 방문객들의 안전에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
