군산지청, A시의원 당선자 벌금 300만원 구형

모교 동문회장으로 장학금 전달 선거법 위반

6.2지방선거 시의원 당선자가 선거법 위반 혐의로 검찰로부터 벌금 300만원을 구형받음에 따라 향후 선고 결과에 첨예한 관심이 쏠리고 있다.

전주지방검찰청군산지청은 28일 전주지방법원 군산지원 302호 법정에서 열린 결심공판에서 A시의원 당선자에 대해 벌금 300만원을 구형했다.

검찰은 “A당선자가 6∙2지방선거 전 모교 초등학교 동문회장을 역임하면서 자신의 이름으로 장학금을 전달, 이는 명백히 선거법 위반”이라며 이같이 구형했다.

한편 A당선자에 대한 선고 공판은 오는 7월22일 오전 11시에 이뤄질 예정이며, 공직선거법상 당선자가 선거법 위반으로 100만원 이상의 벌금이나 금고 이상의 형을 최종 선고받으면 그 당선은 무효처리된다.
