서해대 온정섭 총장, ‘전문인재 양성’ 사회봉사 대상

서해대학 온정섭 총장이 지난 7일 국회의사당 헌정기념관에서 열린 ‘2009 대한민국 사회봉사 대상’ 시상식에서 한국인터넷언론사협회장상을 수상하는 영예를 안았다.

이날 시상식에서 온 총장을 5월 가정의 달을 맞아 전문인재 양성 및 지역사회 복지증진에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 지역발전 전문인재양성 및 지역사회 복지증진 분야 대상을 수상했다.

특히 온 총장은 극심한 취업난 속에서 우수한 실무능력과 뛰어난 현장적응 능력을 갖춘 전문직업인을 양성하는데 일조한 공로를 높이 평가받았다.

온정섭 총장은 “전 세계적으로 어려운 시기를 보내고 있는 이때 사회에 첫 발을 내딛는 청년들이 짊어져야 할 짐이 너무나도 크다고 생각한다”며, “어떤 자리에서도 자기능력을 최대한 발휘할 수 있는 전문직업인, 나아가 어려울수록 자신보다 주위를 먼저 살필 수 있는 사회인을 양성함으로써 현재의 위기를 기회로 만드는 데 서해대학이 앞장 서겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 온정섭 총장은 전북대를 나와 서해대 평생교육원장과 교수협의회장 등을 역임했다.
