김완주 전북도지사가 한국토지주택공사(LH)본사 유치의 도민들의 단결된 힘을 호소하기 위해 서한을 출향 도민들에게 발송했다.
‘전북 몫’인 LH본사 유치를 위한 행보에 구슬땀을 흘리고 있는 김 지사는 9일 서울과 인천, 경기, 부산, 대구·경북, 울산, 강원, 제주 등 8개 시∙도 향우회 임원 및 회원 등 출향인사 4000여명에게 ‘LH공사 분산배치’와 관련된 서한문을 발송하고, 출향인사들의 관심과 참여를 부탁했다.
김 지사는 서한문에서 “사랑하고 존경하는 350만 향후 여러분! 저눈 오늘 ”나락 한 섬 지키겠다“는 비통한 심정으로 이 편지를 쓴다”며 “LH본사는 도민들을 먹여 살리고 아들딸들을 취직시킬 수 있는 ‘나락’으로 이것을 통째로 뺏긴다면 우리에게는 텅 빈 창고만 남을 것이다”고 LH본사 유치의 절실한 마음을 담았다.
이어 “전북은 경남보다 두 배 이상 낙후돼 있고, 재정자립도나 인구수에서도 비교가 안 될 정도로 차이가 난다”라면서 “하지만 정부는 아흔아홉 섬을 가진 사람에게 가난한 사람의 한 섬을 빼앗아 백 섬을 채워주려 하고 있다”고 일각에서 일고 있는 일괄이전설의 부당함을 설명했다.
또 “그동안 받아온 낙후와 소외도 서러운데 원래 우리 몫인 한 섬까지 빼앗길 수는 없다”며 “이제 우리가 할 수 있는 일은 하나로 단결된 힘으로 우리 몫을 지켜내야 한다”고 말했다.
김 지사는 “지금 우리가 단결된 힘을 보여주지 않는다면 영영 기회를 잃어버릴 수도 있다”며 “결사적인 힘으로 단결해 전북도민의 의지를 보여주고 LH본사를 기필코 전북으로 가져오자”고 호소했다.
